Hattie Archibald recently established production company, Staircase Productions Pty Ltd . The name has two meanings. Firstly, it’s named after the mountain behind where founder Hattie Archibald grew up at the junction of the lands of the Gamillaroi, Wonnarua and Geawegal peoples in regional NSW. Locals understand there was a significant bora ground at the base of this mountain and junction of two rivers. It is a place where people have gathered and exchanged stories for centuries.

The second meaning is rooted in the idea of what it means to work in the creative and film industries, especially as a woman; that in order to smash through ceilings there is a simple solution which many people from a whole variety of underrepresented backgrounds have been taking for years: they take the stairs. They work methodically and consistently, always aiming high.
